Current Position and Past Experience
Anne Bacon is Director of Strategic Planning and Policy at North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS), where she has worked since 2014. In this capacity, Bacon’s primary role is to lead the development and implementation of NCCCS’s strategic plan, working with System leaders and program experts. She also researches higher education and workforce development policy issues; tracks proposed state legislation; and provides input on federal policy as a member of the National Skills Coalition’s Postsecondary National Advisory Panel.
Prior to working at the NC Community College System, Bacon engaged in workforce development, economic development, and early childhood education leadership and policy analysis for other state agencies and the North Carolina Rural Economic Development Center.
Education, Honors and Achievements
Anne Bacon holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Sanford School at Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia.
