Marie Cini | Provost, University of Maryland University College

Current Position and Past Experience
Marie Cini is the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland University College, a position she has held since 2013 after serving in an acting capacity as Provost and Chief Academic Officer for a year. Prior to that, Cini spent two years as Vice President and Dean of UMUC, and two years as well as Vice Provost and Dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies.

Before moving to UMUC, Cini served as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the City University of Seattle for two years. Cini has also worked as an administrator at Thomas Edison State College, the University of Maryland, Duquesne University and La Roche College.

In addition to her work at UMUC, Cini is serving as the 2016 President of the Board of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC).

Education, Honors and Achievements
Cini earned her BS in General Arts and Sciences from Penn State University in 1979. In 1981 she earned her MS in Counselor Education from the same institution. In 1994, Cini earned her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
